MPD 5th Precinct
Inspector Christie Nelson commands the 5th Precinct. The 5th Precinct is headquarters for the following:
- Patrol Officers, Precinct Investigations
- Community Response Team
- Community Crime Prevention/SAFE Team
The 5th Precinct service area is bounded by I-35 W on the east, I-94 on the north and the city limits on the west and south. See a boundary map here.
The 5th Precinct includes southwest Minneapolis neighborhoods and is divided into two sectors. Sector 1 includes the Lowry Hill neighborhood and the Cedar-Isles-Dean, East Isles, Kenwood, Lowry Hill East, Lowry Hill, Stevens Square-Loring Heights, and Whittier neighborhoods.
5th Precinct Team partners with LHNA , attending LHNA board meetings, sharing crime information, and developing neighborhood communication strategies.
