The Supervisor Community Safety Ambassador exists to ensure the effective delivery of the Community Safety Ambassador program by leading, supporting, and coordinating the work of frontline ambassadors. The position provides oversight of daily operations, ensuring patrol coverage, professional standards, and high-quality community engagement. The Supervisor serves as the bridge between ambassadors, city partners, and community stakeholders, helping resolve escalated safety concerns, maintain accurate reporting, and reinforce training and service standards. The Community Safety Ambassador Lead exists to provide on-the-ground leadership, guidance, and support to frontline ambassadors while continuing to perform ambassador duties in the field. This position bridges the gap between ambassadors and supervisory staff by ensuring patrol coverage, modeling best practices, and serving as the first point of contact for routine questions, minor escalations, and real-time coaching needs. The purpose of the role is to strengthen field operations, improve consistency and accountability, and enhance communication within the team. The Community Safety Ambassador exists to create a safe, welcoming, and connected environment along Minneapolis’ cultural corridors by serving as a trusted, approachable presence in the community. Ambassadors exist to support residents, businesses, and visitors by helping them navigate city services, sharing resources, and connecting those in need to assistance. Through proactive engagement, walking the corridors, and building strong relationships, ambassadors help calm tensions, prevent violence, and foster trust.
