It’s been 5 years since the murder of George Floyd drew attention to systemic discrimination within the Minneapolis Police Department (MPD). While the Consent Decree with the U.S. Department of Justice has been withdrawn, the Settlement Agreement with the Minnesota Department of Human Rights paves the pathway to reform.
Join us to learn about state and city reforms to date, including response beyond armed police, next steps in the reform process, and how the public can get involved.
This year, the mayor and every city council seat will be up for election. LWV Minneapolis is empowering voters with information so they can hold elected officials accountable and ask candidates the right questions.
