The Lowry Hill Neighborhood Association (LHNA), a volunteer board of 15 members, will hold an election for 3 open board seats on Tuesday, May 19, 2020 at the LHNA annual meeting. If you are a Lowry Hill resident, age 16 or older, you are eligible to serve. See map on this page for neighborhood boundaries.
About the Lowry Hill Neighborhood Associaton (LHNA)
LHNA is the oldest neighborhood organization in Minneapolis. Its purpose is to work toward the preservation and improvement of the Lowry Hill neighborhood and provide a forum fostering communication, participation, and advocacy for Lowry Hill neighborhood stakeholders regarding issues and events meaningful to our community.
Roles and Responsibilities of Board Members
The term of each director is two (2) years, commencing on the date of the annual meeting at which such director is elected and ending on the date of the second annual meeting thereafter. Board members dedicate 4-5 hours/month, attend meetings, contribute ideas, serve on committees and attend/help execute neighborhood events. Duties of the board members include:
- Support LHNA’s mission
- Attend board meetings:
Regular monthly board meetings – 1st Tuesday of the month, 7p.m. (Except hiatus in July and August)
Annual meeting, usually held in May.
Special meetings held on the call of the Board, President, or neighborhood (see bylaws)
- Serve on at least one committee: Crime and Safety, Environment, Events, Neighborhood Priories, Outreach, Zoning
How to Apply
Complete and submit this form by 5:00 p.m., May 1, 2020. Candidates are not required to attend the Annual Meeting, although it is highly encouraged. Proof of residency in the neighborhood will be requested. A headshot may be requested as well. Photos and answers in this application may be displayed on/at any of the following: the LHNA website, LHNA emails, board meetings, annual meeting.
