MINNEAPOLIS TREE SALE

WARDS 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 10:

As a property owner residing in a lower-than-average tree canopied area*, you are able to order a tree for your property during the week of March 6 - March 11. Take advantage of this great opportunity to increase the tree canopy in your area and the value of your property while enjoying the benefits of cleaner air and water.

*New this year:  Only one tree is allowed per property owner, regardless of number of properties you own. The copay (your cost) per tree is $25.

All registrants will be notified of their status by March 22 and further details on the process will be provided at that time. The distribution location will be the City of Minneapolis Impound Lot on May 20-22.

*Please note: if your residence is not within Wards 3,4,5,6,7 or 10, your early tree order will be cancelled and your
payment refunded as soon as possible.

Things to consider when ordering and planting your tree:

  • Only property owners of Minneapolis are eligible to participate in this program.
  • You may order one tree per property, maximum of three properties.
  • You cannot plant on the boulevard (between sidewalk & street).
  • It’s the law to call Gopher State One Call (651-454-0002) at least three days before digging. They will mark buried utility lines for your safety.
  • You will receive a brochure containing information about tree planting and care when you pick up your tree.
  • Save money on energy by planting large shade trees on the west or east side of your home.
  • Trees will vary in size depending on species; average between 3-8′ tall.
  • Large shade trees should be planted at least 15 feet away from nearby power lines and/or buildings.
